That's Rich! Using rich media tools

In our Spring Training series, Hannah Rudman and Erin Maguire will teach you about the digital tools you need to build your communities and increase your operational effectiveness. This the second of three training days to be offered by AmbITion Scotland will focus on producing and sharing rich media. Pictures, videos and audio allow you to connect with your audiences more directly, while the social aspects of these let you have conversations where previously you only had broadcast messages.

What will I learn?

Rich MediaAM: Rich Media Tools: How to use the free rich media tools offered by the services Flickr, Vimeo, Audioboo and Issuu to tell the world about your work. Learn how to tag your media so that people can quickly make sense of it and learn how to embed your media to feed your existing websites and social media outlets.

FacebookPM: Make it like a pro: How to share your rich media with the world. This will be a more advanced session exploring the issues around copyright and Creative Commons licenses as well as the importance of pre-planning for your media production.

Who is it for?

The trainings are designed with Scottish cultural organisations and individual artists in mind. They may be of specific use to:

What’s it about?

Helping you build the skills you need for digital development, the AmbITion Scotland Spring Trainings are:

  • hands-on - about gaining practical experience
  • targeted at those with a basic level of knowledge already
  • delivered in small groups, so that participants get the personal support they need for learning
  • going to provide a clear learning path – take the series and build your skills up week by week
  • focused – if you only need to focus on a specific topic you can dip in and out of the course series
  • about networking and sharing with peers on the same learning path as you
  • flexible. You can attend in person or they can be viewed online on demand later. (Due to the highly interactive nature of these training sessions, they will not be webcast live.)
